That quickly led to fears in the community that the lakefront location would be redeveloped into a highrise condominium similar to what occurred at nearby locations. 聽2084 Lakeshore Holding Ltd., the owners of the building, released a statement on June 22 saying they hope to bring a new restaurant to the location. ARTICLE CONTINUES BELOW Despite rumours to the contrary, the owners, 2084 Lakeshore Ltd., stanley cup intend to pursue discussions with interested food and beverage operators, and have no plans to request permission to redevelop the building into a condo tower, reads the statement. 聽When news of Emma closure was made public thousands took to social media with messages of support, sadness and sharing of stories. ARTICLE CONTINUES BELOW For the past 30 years Emma Back Porch and the Water Street Cooker operated at the location, but the building has a long history that resulted in a heritage designation in 2009.聽That designation comes from recognition of the over 100 years of history the building has in the city.
