Health experts likened the day of the COVID vaccine rollout to a magic moment and explained it brought a sense of relief and hope that it was the beginning of the end of the pandemic. One year after vaccines started going into the arms of health care workers in the state and Tampa Bay area, ABC Action News checked in to see how some health experts feel about where we are in the pandemic today. Im disappointed that theres been the degree of vaccine hesitancy that there has been, and Im discouraged by the fact that we were not able to provide the vaccine on a more global reach, which has led to the development of these variants, said Jfyv 1 dead, 4 others hurt in wrong-way crash in Largo, police say

Pelosi said she and Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell spoke on Thursday about attaching a coronavirus relief bill to the omnibus, although the omnibus must still be written first.Pelosi s press conference came after a bipartisan, bicameral group of lawmakers introduced a $908 billion coronavirus relief plan earlier this week. Pelosi and Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer have said they believe the proposal should form the basis for any further negotiations, and the plan has received support from several Republican senators. On Friday, Pelosi said that she believed the plan - once written - could be a basis for real bicameral negotiation. There is momentum, Pelosi said about the negotiations. She added that we have the time to create an omnibus and a coronavirus relief plan, even though the deadline to extend government funding is only one week away. Several thousand people chanted We want Bill! and Four more years! at a campaign-style event in Harlem to celebrate the official opening of former President Bill Clinton s post-White House offices. Now I feel like I m home! said a beaming Mr. Clinton. I am honored to be in Harlem. But a longtime friend and adviser, Ron Kaufman, told the paper that McDonnell was a true and trusted friend and ally during the 2012 campaign. He did a great job running the RGA [Republican Governors Association], he did a great job running Virginia and Mitt has a very special place in his heart for Governor McDonnell. He wanted to help him at a time when he needed help, just as Governor McDonnell would do for Mitt if he needed help, Kaufman said. McDonnell and his wife, Maureen, will have to raise thousands to fight the charges in the indictment, which was handed down after the former governor left office in January. In January, President Bush vetoed the stanley italia Defense Authorization Bill objecting to a provision that would have allowed victims of terrorism to sue the Iraq government and other state sponsors of terrorism. He argued such lawsuits would hamper reconstruction efforts in Iraq, freeze the governmentrsquo assets in the United States and make the country liable for billions of dollars in claims. Congress and the president negotiated a deal that allowed the provision to apply to state sponsors of terrorism, but would specifically exempt Iraq from lawsuits. In this sp stanley termosar ecific lawsuit, the Iraq government argued that the presidential waiver would protect Iraq and prevent the suit from proceeding. But the appeals court on Tuesday rejected that claim, in part because the lawsuit was filed under an earlier version of the Foreign Sovereign Immunities Act. At this point, the Iraq government has about two weeks to decide whether it wants a rehearing from the appeals court, according to Tony Onorato, an attorney for Steptoe and Johnson, representing the plaintiffs.
