Hamilton firefighters responded to a blaze that broke out in the basement of a Fielding Crescent home, west of Upper Gage Avenue, on the east Mountain.The fire, called in at about 8 a.m. Friday, was in the basement of a semi-detached house at 35 Fielding Cres. It was quickly extinguished.The lone occupant, a man, was not injured and already outside the house when firefighters arrived, said fire department spokesperson Claudio Mostacci.
