A new Extendicare Peterborough is proposed for development on a 24-acre vacant property off Towerhill Road, along with a series of condos to be built later.The larger new Extendicare is proposed as a replacement for the one on Alexander Court next to the hospital, said facility administrator Bill Thurlow.The proposed new private long-term-care facility would have 256 beds, he said, which is 82 more beds than the 1972 facility on Alexander Court.
