Two men ages 18 and 20 were shot early Sunday as they talked with friends in front of a house in the Newhallville section. The three shootings Monday happened within less than a half-hour in the Hill neighborhood. A 24-year-old man was shot seven times while waiting for a ride to work. A 41-year-old man was shot minutes later at a street corner a few blocks away and the third man, 54, was shot as he waited for a bus.Names of the victims and details of their conditions were not released.State police tests on shell casings found at the scenes showed the same gun was used in all five shootings. They had no descriptions of the shooter or shooters. Police are looking to see whether this gun has been used in any other crimes - solved or unsolved. Phones are getting bigger; some are even too big for pockets. So whats the answer to your too-big-to-use-as-a-phone issues A mini Bluetooth phone that connects to your real phone, of course. Federal prosecutors accused two men Wednesday of killing the captain and three crew members of a charter fishing boat they allegedly attempted to hijack at sea.Prosecutors filed criminal complaints against Kirby Logan Archer, 35, and 19-year-old Guillermo Zarabozo, both of whom were rescued from the ocean and are already in custody. They could get the death penalty or life in prison if convicted. The charges stem from the d stanley cup uk isappearance of the four people after Archer and Zarabozo last month chartered the Joe Cool fishing stanley becher boat, purportedly for a pleasure trip to Bimini, Bahamas.Attorneys for Archer and Zarabozo did not im stanley cup mediately return telephone calls seeking comment. A hearing is scheduled Thursday in federal court for both men.The men were found floating in the boat s life raft with no sign of the captain and crew. Zarabozo initially claimed that an unknown group of pirates had attacked them at sea and fatally shot the crew one by one. Their bodies have never been found despite a massive Coast Guard search, but investigators did recover four bullet shell casings, blood and other evidence from the boat.According to investigators with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, evidence found from the processing of weapons and bullet casings, led to the murder charges, reported CBS 4 in Miami. The boat started out on course for Bimini on Sept. 22 but then turned sharply south and was found abandoned and out of fuel north of Cuba, officials have said. When we think about futurism, often we imagine cutting-edge stanley mugg technologies like bionic arms or weather machines for colonizing Mars. But if we really stanley cup want to make it for another few centuries, we ;re going to need something that Iran has already got. To understand Iran breakthrough, we need to go back in time to 1993, when President Obama science adviser John Holdren was trying to figure out how big the world population could get before there was a major energy crisis. A respected environmental scientist, Holdren offered up a famous scenario based on the world population at that time. Peak Population At that time, Earth held 5.5 billion people compared to today 7 billion , who consumed 13 terawatts of energy annually. Of course, they were not consumed equally: people in the developing world consumed on average 1 kilowatt per person, while people in the developed stanley thermosflasche world consumed 7.5. Holdren suggested that given current population growth rates, the world would need 8 times more energy to fuel its 14 billion people by the end of the twenty-first century. Which would mean total collapse of the ecosystem, peak oil, and likely both. That sounded crazily horrific, so Holdren asked what would happen if the population only boomed to 10 billion, and everybody had equal access to energy. Even if everybody only used on average 3 kilowatts, the world would still require 30 terawatts of energy annually by the end of the twenty-first century.

This follows allegations from two black shoppers who have said they were questioned by police after they made expensive purchases at the Manhattan store. One has filed a discrimination lawsuit against Barneys, the city and its police department; the other has filed a complaint with the city s police watchdog agency. Student Trayon Christian, 19, said the store and police targeted him in April of this year because they didn t think he could afford a $350 Ferragamo belt. After buying the belt using his Chase debit card, Christian s attorney Michael Palillo said Christian was stopped less than a block from the store by undercover NYPD detectives. Palillo said the officers told Christian they had received a call from Barneys telling them that the debit card he used to buy the belt was fraudulent. Christian, who later returned the belt to the store, said the incident was embarrassing and that the experience has changed him. Updated 1:31 p.m. ETA teenage girl who became famous after hiccuping uncontrollably for weeks has been charged with luring a man to a house where he was robbed and fatally shot.Jennifer Mee, 19, of St. Petersburg and two others are charged with first-degree murder in the death of Shannon Griffin, 22, on Saturday.Mee s unusual condition landed her on the national Today morning show on NBC in 2007 and got her a hug from country star Keith Urban. But her life fell into disarray when the hiccups finally stopped five weeks after they started. Qzyf Another Dose Of Bad News In N.O.
A major American drywall manufacturer said Tuesday that test results show their product is not defective and the source of problems for one Florida home. George and Brenda Brincku of Alva, Florida say their house, which was built in 2004, has deteriorated and become uninhabitable because of contaminated drywall. Chinese manufacturers were implicated as the source of the bad drywall in the U.S. But the Brincks claim - and can document - that their home was constructed only with American product that came primarily from one of the nation s leading domestic suppliers, National Gypsum. Experts cut o stanley cup website ut several samples of drywall throughout the Brinckus home over the course of seven days in early March. Furthermore, none of the wallboard exhibited the stanley polska problem characteristics of the Chinese-produced board. The American flag that was raised by three firefighters over the wreckage of the World Trade Center, one of the most enduring images of Sept. 11, has disappeared. After it was removed from the site during cleanup, the flag flew on U.S. ships serving in the war in Afghanistan. Then, in March, it was returned to New York City officials. But the flag that city officials preserved measures 5 feet by 8 feet. The flag the firefighters raised on Sept. 11 measured 4 feet by 6 feet, according to its original owners. It s just a really awkward and difficult situation, said Lark-Marie Anton, a spokeswoman for New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg. What it represents is really what s important. It difficult to imagine a world without artificial light stanley termosar . But it comes with a price. Over the years, scientists have learned more and more about how light pollution is harming the planet numerous animals. Here what we know so far. Simply put: The number of stars in the sky ta stanley cup nz kes your breath away. The differences in the night sky are due to light pollution 鈥?excessive or misdirected artificial light from streetlights, electronic billboards, cars, fishing boats and a host of other sources. Take a look at any satellite image of Earth at night and you ;ll see ju stanley cup st how much light pollution there is across the globe. And things are only getting worse: Estimates suggest global light pollution is increasing by 6 percent each year. For many years, light pollution was discussed solely in terms of the night sky, as it was known to be a bane to astronomy. In order to really see the stars, galaxies, planets and other objects in space, astronomers were forced to build their observatories and view the night sky far from bright cities. But numerous studies, particularly in the 1980s and 1990s, began showing how light pollution negatively affects various species. Over the last couple of days you might ;ve heard that a company called Palcohol has been cleared to market powdered alcohol in the United States. It sounds exciting! And scary! stanley cup Update: Probably not, seeing as how all it seems this was probably approved by mistake. The reason powdered alcohol is lighting up your feeds right now is because the wonderful blog at BevLaw dug out the federal government approval of products by Palcohol. It took the United States 139 years to get to 100 million people, and just 52 years to add another 100 million, back in 1967. Now, one day in October-after an interval of just 39 years-America will claim more than 300 million souls. A controversial bill that seeks to block mandatory GMO food labeling by individual U.S. states was the subject of a hearing held yesterday by the House Energy and Commerce Subcommittee on Health. Amid the testimonies, one key question emerged time and again: Are genetically modified foods natural Activists in several states have been pushing for mandatory labels, arguing that the safety of GMOs has not been sufficiently proven and that people have a right to know the contents of the food they eat. The turning point in the case came when a judge on the Federal Court of Claims sided with the family last June, ruling that the government s denial of the benefit had been arbitrary. The long court battle finally ended on Jan. 10, after the Office of the Solicitor General decided to drop its last appeal in the c stanley cup ase. In Scotland, Scotch must mature in its barrel for at least 3 years, although most age in the range of 8 to 20. Scotch made in its homeland, Canada and England is called Scotch Whisky no e , while that made in Ireland and the U.S. is Scotch Whiskey. What is Distillation People have been distilling liquids since at least the Ancient Egyptians. It can be a simple process. Essentially, a system is created where a liquid is heated in one chamber, but the evaporated vapor is collected in another. In whisky production, that liquid begins with barle stanley mugs y, which is allowed to germinate. It is then dried using smoke if peat is used, it imparts a smoky flavor on the barley , then ground and added to water the wort , which is later fermented. Less than two years later, however, using improved equipment and techniques, the NHK has successfully completed another test where its researchers broadcasted an 8K over the air signal from its offices in Hitoyoshi, Kumamoto Prefecture, in southern Japan, to a receiving station 16.8 miles away without any signal loss. And that a significant milestone because 16.8 miles is roughly the same distance achieved by current digital over the air broadcasts in Japan. So now all we need are some 8K cameras and to convince studios to start shooting all their shows in UHDTV. Amazon Studios just announcedits next slate of television pilots, which will debut stanley cup sometime in early 2015. Once they ;re released, feedback will help decide whether Amazon will order them to series, the same as previous pilot rounds. gourde stanley So which one is the next Transparent If Amazon can score another breakout hit, it ;ll build confidence that Amazon Studios is an up-and-coming original content maker and that Jill Holoway charming L.A. story isn ;t a fluke. None of the pilots are actually available yet, but the two that sound the most promising are a half-hour docuseries presented by The New Yorker called The New Yorker Presents Alan Cumming is apparently in it , and an hour-long drama adapted from Philip K. Another promising show: Mad Dogs, which has a low-key premise about friends gathering to celebrate a retirement, but a cast including Billy Zane, Steve Zahn, and Romany Malco who could make a hangout comedy happen. Other contenders: stanley thermos Cocked, a show from a Lie To Me writer with a very Lie to Me vibe, Point of Honor a story about *ethical* Confederate soldiers , and Salem Rogers, a comedy about a supermodel Leslie Bibb that sounds kinda bad but co-stars Rachel Dratch, who I very much want to make a comeback. When asked to define cooperation, Yakis said, the opening of air space, first of all, and the utilization of facilities in Turkey. The military authorities of the two countries are consulting on the assumption that such a cooperation may be necessary one day, Yakis said. The present resolution ... does not allow the automatic resorting to armed intervention, he said.Ankara s support is considered crucial in any war.
