A string of robberies leads to the discovery of a deeper problem in Waukesha. Waukesha police say they re seeing an alarming spike in armed robberies with one thing to blame; the opioid epidemic that s sweeping across southeastWisconsin. It s a problem that s bigger than law enforcement, it s a societal problem, said Lieutenant Jerry Habanek.55-Year-Old Shot By Police After Pursuit in WaukeshaArmed robberies doubled in Waukesha from 2016 to 2017. The experiments, conducted at the University of Duisburg, Essen, had 40 participants sit and watch videos of a small dinosaur-shaped robot. A second study used functional magnetic-resonance imaging, and shows that affectionate interaction towards both robots and humans resulted in similar neural activation patterns in the brain. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration issued a warning this week that says car owners should not bedazzle their steering wheels, saying they could potentially cause significant injury or death. The NHTSA issued the alert after a driver had a serious injury that resulted in the loss of sight in one eye. The NHTSA said the rhinestones dislodged from the steering wheel during an accident, hitting the driver in the face. The NHTSA said that the force of air bags deploying can turn rhinestones into projectiles during accidents. Unlike the permanently affixed logo on your vehicles steering wheel, these aftermarket decals can easily become dislodged when the air bag is deployed. Any alterations or changes to your air bag or its cover can also cause it to not function correctly, the NHTSA said.SEE MORE: Toyota recalls almost 1.9 million RAV4s over battery fire riskAdditionally, the NHTSA encourages drivers to remove such decals from their steering wheels if already installed.Last year, a Florida woman reportedly was injured by rhinestones that became a projectile during a crash. KANSAS CITY, Mo 鈥?Missouri Gov. Mike Parson was in Kansas City, Missouri, on Thursday afternoon to sign a legislation that will affect the price of tickets in the 2026 FIFA World Cup. The bill will exempt all sales tax on World Cup tickets for games that are played in Jackson County. Attorney General William Barr took aim at his own Justice Department on Wednesday, criticizing prosecutors for behaving as headhunters in their pursuit of prominent targets and politically charged cases. The comments at a speech at Hillsdale College in Michigan amount to a striking and unusual rebuke of the thousands of prosecutors who do the daily work of assembling criminal cases across the country.Barr described the prosecutors as part of the permanent bureaucracy and said they were in need of supervision from detached, politically appointed leaders who are accountable to the president and Congress. WASHINGTON, D.C. 鈥?The bipartisan infrastructu stanley cup re bill continues to progress in the United States Senate. A final vote could take place this weekend. For months, youve heard politicians and transportation leaders make the case that now is the time to revolutionize train travel. The bipartisan bill certainly allocates money in the direction of mass transit and Amtrak. It invests $39 billion over five years into mass transit, like commuter trains and buses. It also allocates $66 billion for passenger rail, mostly Amtrak. Both represent an unrepresented amount of funds for those transportation sectors. But just how transformational is this bipartisan infrastructure deal when it comes to train travel It depends on who you ask. If you ask the question, Is more needed Absolutely more is needed. Now, a team of scientists have analyzed fMRI brain scans to reveal that humans have similar brain function when shown affection and violence being inflicted on both humans and robots. https://gizmodo/robots-of-the-future-will-show-empathy-be-good-listene-5...
