The Bowling Green Police Department says pre-planned shoplifting operations have resulted in multiple arrests and several thousand dollars in recovered merchandise.Police say the joint effort with the Kentucky Organized Retail Crime Association and local loss prevention personnel led to two operations.During this time, police say they not only recovered over $3,200 in merchandise from those charged, they also learned information about counterfeit currency.Loss prevention personnel also intercepted the theft of more than $5,000 in merchandise without police intervention, police say.Police say seven individuals were arrested in relation to shoplifting in addition to five people who were cited.
